State Swim Meet

After the City Swim Meet, Jacob's coach from the Y asked him to swim a couple relays at the state swim meet which was conveniently in Greensboro the following weekend.  

Good friend, Brooks, was on the relay as well as a couple boys Jacob has gotten to know (Noah and John).  

Their medley relay set up well as each boy swam his strongest stroke (including Noah who was the state champ in Fly).  In the end, their collective efforts resulted in a 3rd place finish!  Jacob motored his fastest free time ever.  The next day the same group took sixth place in the free relay.

2 Podiums

Jacob and Jensen each joined their medley relay teammates on the podium with 3rd place finishes!  Then, Jensen finished 5th overall in breast stroke and Jacob 4th in 100 free (by just 0.3 seconds to close friend Brooks!). 

Are you kidding me?  Lots of hard work really paying off.

Other meet highlights...

Jensen got 18th in backstroke and 25th in free.  Jacob finished 7th in IM and 8th in fly.  To wrap it up, Jacob's free relay team (Brooks, Max, and Jack) took 2nd.

In the parade, Green Valley wore pink to honor their former coach's wife who is battling cancer.

GVP finished 2nd in the city as a team.  Congrats to Hamilton Lakes!  What a fun weekend!
